Specialty Care Center for our Patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease – Chronic inflammatory bowel diseases traditionally comprise two principal categories: Ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.  Other colitides include microscopic colitis, diversion colitis, radiation colitis, and diverticular colitis.  The incidences of ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease have risen dramatically in industrialized parts of the world.  Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis have their highest prevalence in Western industrialized countries of Europe and North America.  IBD creates a large burden on society as a whole since the peak incidence is in late adolescence and early adulthood.  This is the time where individuals are at their peak productive years and women are in their reproductive years.

More about Dr. Drelichman:  Dr. Ernesto (Ernie) Drelichman’s parents are both physicians.  He and his twin sister grew up to be just like them….doctors.  Dr. Drelichman chose surgery because he had a “passion” for healing.
