State of the art Endoscopy Facilities
St. John Providence and Providence Park Hospitals are proud to present the newest, most advanced facilities for the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases in Southeast Michigan. Built within the past three years, our facilities feature the latest technology:
- The “Spyglass” system from Boston Scientific aids in the diagnosis and treatment of tiny pancreatic and biliary lesions.
- Double balloon enteroscopy technology allows visualization of the access to the entire small intestine.
- Our physicians perform capsule endoscopy to visualize the entire small bowel. The small camera in the capsule captures multiple images of the small intestine.
- High resolution impedance monitoring and 24-hour pH impedance testing helps evaluate both acid and non-acid causes of gastro esophageal reflux disease.
- Our endoscopy lab is one of the few in Southeast Michigan to perform anal rectal manometry.
- Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) can provide detailed, non-surgical examination of the G.I. tract, pancreas and bile duct to further assess and diagnosis abnormalities.
- Our endoscopy center is one of the few in the area that provides radio frequency ablation of Barrett’s esophagus. This technique allows the new operative treatment of precancerous esophageal lesions.
Features of Our Endoscopy Center:
- We have been designated an award-winning endoscopy program for the past five years.
- Board-Certified gastroenterologists and colorectal surgeons staff the center, treating both adult and pediatric patients.
- We offer multiple procedure rooms and an ERCP suite at each location.
- Full Endoscopy services are available to both St. John Providence and Providence Park campuses, allowing for flexible scheduling.
- We host an active Allopathic and Osteopathic gastroenterology fellowship program, making ours one of the largest academic programs in the state.
- Our gastroenterology team can treat diseases of the GI tract less invasively, more conservatively and accurately than ever before.
St. John Providence Hospitals and the endoscopy team are eager to provide care for your patients using the most advanced technology to diagnose and treat diseases more conservatively, avoiding surgical intervention and all of its implications whenever possible. We are happy to provide a tour of our facility or a referral to one of our highly qualified gastroenterologists.
